so been looking to resolve my fan issue today, in process of taking stuff apart i noticed the ccrm was slightly melted by two pins. it didn't seem to damage the wiring where It is not usable in the harness but it looks like it got a little hot too.

i'm guessing the fan motors were drawing too much power? probably on their way out with 150+K on the car. anyone seen this before? anything to worry about? got a new J module to install as well as two new fan motors, and the etc sensor.

corrosion and a poor connection will cause the current to flow thru a smaller contact area in the connector. the smaller the contact area, the hotter it gets.

there is a good chance the relay for the fan will stick or not close consistently, given your description, but you will need to test it once the fan issue is resolved.

well, two new fans installed, new ccrm (made sure the harness was attached good it seemed kinda loosely attached before), new etc, new gauge sending unit. Seems like things work good now, both high and low speed fans work (never seemed to turn on the high speed before) fans run when I run the a/c, and they seem to turn on and off like they are suppose to.
