i just recently purchased a 95atx sho with 41157 miles on it.as far as i am concerned it seems like the original mile.the interior is emaculate and the exterior also.inside the engine compartment there is some looks like condensation buildup on alot of the exposed ac and other pipes and screww.the car drives like a dream.my question is ,is there any sure way of varifiing the mileage.

You can go to www.carfax.com and pay like 15 bucks. What happens is everytime a car is smogged, whoever is smogging it puts in how many miles the car has. If its been rolled back you'll know. I was gonna buy this 5.0L i thought had about 82K. Luckily the guy was cool and a carfax came with the car, turned out it had been rolled back. My dad (hes a cop) did a little police work, turned out it had been rolled back more then once. It had at least 130K if not more.

If you know anybody at a local Ford dealership, you can ask them to run the vin through their computer. It should show any dealer contacts along with the miles.

thanks for the advice.i purchased the car from carmax and i requested a carfax at the time and it stated the last mileage recorded was late 97 about 31000 miles.and the report said it was a clean title and no mileage tampering detected.i was just wondering if a car was not used that much would some of the screws and pipe biuld up some rust from just sitting around.otherwise it drives like a dream .had to take it back to carmax for engine mount replacement and to change thermostat.talked to a local reputable mechanic about the mounts needing replacement with that low mileage he replied its not that unusual.will call local ford dealer for info on car but sometimes these dealers are tightlips.

love this car red tan mocha interior loaded .and like i said runs and drives like new leather looks unused goodyear ga tires like new.no creeks rattles or noises at all just had to replace the jbl sub which seems to blow alot on these vehicle but the one i got at sound advice blow the jbl woofer away.will post up pics soon.if you guys know of any friendly ford dealer to get more info on my car please let me know thanks myshonuff.ps this replaces the 93 atx i had sold my nephew.the thing is once you get uesd to these cars you cant let them go.
