Mild Knock

Here goes....Mild knock at idle-between gears. Under load (accel or decel ) no knock. Replaced rod brngs, no change,brngs looked good for 140000. Thinking piston slap?or.....Any ideas

Piston slap....very unlikely. Is the noise sound like its in the upper or lower, left or right portion of the motor.

Cam chain tensioner could make a ticking at idle.

Fuel injectors have a tendacy to tick also in a few vehicles.

With a stethascope it sounds loudest from the front bank, middle cyl. Vadim said maybe cam tensioner. I read on a post that the T-belt tensioner made noise for someone. Injectors, no, different sound. Thank you for the input though...Really. I need as many ideas as possible...in case I'm overlooking something.

mine is in the exact same position as you describe, i'd like to know to. i've already done the shimming to all my valves. so i have no clue. and isn't a tensioner more of a chattering not a ticking.
