I think you need the tune to be moderately dependent on meth otherwise it’s not utilizing the extra fuel and octane fully. Which leads to making meth kit choice very important. Be willing to throw down some extra cash here. My Alky kit cost me $900+. And it’s best to swap out the pump regardless of use ever 48 months or so. A rebuild is $85. A new pump is $160 or so. I have two pumps so I’m never without one.I'll be the devil's advocate here. Meth is MUCH cheaper, cleans the engine as it adds power and won't put you in a power range that starts to find other weak links (i.e. trans, turbos, intercooler) in the system.
Both Jordan and Fiveleeter are 'cutting edge' on our platform. They look at things that can break them into records. They are not looking at it as a daily driver looking to go a little faster and do it more consistently. Meth is great for a DD car with one caveat, DO NOT BUILD A TUNE THAT REQUIRES METH TO KEEP THE ENGINE SAFE.
Bc your goal is E30 I would go with an XDI pump. If you were just going to use 93 and no access to E85 then I would say get meth. They each have their pros and cons as far as installation and maintenance. Meth injection is a more complicated install. Once you’re done you fill up with meth, simple. Assuming you installed it properly there would be no leaks, nothing to really do except refill with meth. Your kit should have a low level sensor...if you’re low take it easy don’t go WOT at the next 5 stop lights. If you do an XDI pump the pump swap is very easy. You’ll need to mix fuel all the time and might want an ethanol sensor installed to make you aware of what your mix is at. If you can’t find any Ethanol stations I guess you could swap back to a stock tune file or 91-93 tune. And if you added meth after the fact you would have the extra fuel and octane from the XDI pump and ethanol mix...so if your pump failed you wouldn’t go boom. Looking at their power advantages from (93+meth tuned) to (E30 tuned) they are very similar......neither of them makes the other unvalued to overall performance. We’re strictly talking what order to do things in given what you have available to you and budget. Consider doing both in the future.Meth or xdi pump to try e30 tune? For meth there is Aquamist, Alky, AEM and Snow? Right?

Not sure I'd call myself cutting edge, I'm slower than @ridered74 haha
I did just sell my XDI-35 for $1000 though.
Leaning toward meth at this point. E85 is easy to get up here in Michigan, but down in Wichita Falls Texas where my car normally is I don’t see any available at the pump. Max octane there is also 91. Seems strange that 91 is the best octane you get in Texas

To put in an XDI-60?
XDI for sure. Tbh both would be even better.
Other parts of Texas no problem. Wichita Falls all are 91. Doesn’t make any sense.Wuuuut? 93 is pretty common down here in Texas. Valero, BP, Exxon, HEB, VP, all have 93. I think CEFCO only has 91. E85 has been really hard to get for the last couple months. Supposedly the snowstorm two months is still effecting supply![]()
