Just a day or so ago i performed a full front 60k and now the car is back together and running strong, with the exception of one thing- i have this odd metallic scraping sound, like a pulley thats rotating is in contact with something stationary, only on visual examination i cannot find any such contact nor can i pinpoint the source- not even with a stethoscope. The noise is also consistent with engine RPM, the higher the RPM's the louder it gets. Any ideas?

which side of the engine is the sound coming from? if from the belt side checkt he tensioner to start, then the alternator. they are the usual sources of metallic scrapping sounds. next is the waterpump. if on the drivers side, it could be the diff pin grinding at your case... been there...bad news.

its coming from the drive belt side of the engine- ill remove the drive belts one at a time and start the car to try and pinpoint the source of the noise.
