Has anyone done this yet? if so what are the mods needed? I know its meant for forced induction.

Would be a waste on an N/A motor. Your going to want f/I to see any gains from doing this.

The goal is to keep combustion chamber temps down, reducing the chance of detonation and resultant motorboom.

If one were to advance timing, methanol injection can help prevent detonation, but I'd have to agree with Clay, on an NA SHO motor, you probably wouldn't see results that were worth the money invested.
