The answer to your question is no. We limit that quantity because mass mailings can equate to spam, especially if the user did not specify that they wanted to be a part of a "mailing list". I don't even send out mass mailings via the forum. It would also eat up forum bandwidth in a hurry if everyone did this.

Your best bet is to compile a list of people that want to receive your mailings and then send out notices 2-3 at a time. I believe you are allowed to send to or CC 3 people max at one time.

Edit: Let me say this much, it appears that you are very eager and enthusiastic about getting your group of people together and I admire that and can appreciate it on the level that I've worn your shoes before, but word to the wise....don't wear out the communications channels. If a person were to PM me about meets, etc. often and I would probably shy away because it would seem more like nagging than an invite. Once a month or even bi-monthly updates on meets and events is ample IMO.

First question is WHY???

I am compiling a list of people in the Southern California area. First, I want to ask them if i can add them to my buddy/pm list only to inform them of SHOCal meets. I only plan to let them know a tentative date for the meet and any changes to it. It's not something i will do to bother them on a daily basis. Most information will be posted on the Forum. But i figure it would nice to send out a personal invite to Souther California SHO members at least 1-2 times a month about meets. Actually, the meet in Nov is the first one we've had in several months. It's often difficult because not all of our schedules coordinate. I figure it would be nice to extend an invitation to you guys.

People can drive thousand of miles to attend the SHO Convetion. I plan to attend Seattle 08 with my fellow SHOCal guys, but why can't just we, SHOFOrum and SHOCal guys just get together and hang out?

Your best bet is to compile a list of people that want to receive your mailings and then send out notices 2-3 at a time
I am asking them for permission. Thanks.

then get their email addresses so you can do exactly what you want without eating up any site bandwidth

that, combined with a thread on the forums should reach 95% of the people who would even think about coming ... and it hardly eats any of bizzy's bandwidth in the process

Create an emailing list instead of a pm list? That's something i will definitely consider. I wasn't aware about eating up bandwith. Thanks for the suggestion.
