Alright, this question may seem strange, but I gotta know. Okay, I've noticed that when I shift in my 1992 SHO, every shift equals a pause in the acceleration of the car. I've noticed in cars with automatic transmissions, there is no pause. I'm wondering, is this pause normal for MTXs or am I doing something wrong? Just curious. A quick answer would be great. Thanks in advance.

nope it's normal. in manuals when you push in on the clutch it lets go of the tranny coasting the car or slowing it down if going up hill. in ATX's the tranny is always connected to the engine.

just try to give the car a little more gas right before you push the clutch in when shifting. thats what i have to do to make the ride much more smoother. good luck

You could answer a great many questions at the How Stuff Works website. The link to the left will take you to the manual transmission section.
