Hey Livernois,

I was just about to pull the trigger on your Ecoboost Stage 1 Performance Package (Tune, CAI, Pugs & Thermostat) but I'd really like to stay from the CAI. I don't feel like dealing w/ the maintenance. Would you guys be able to create a tune for my car w/o the CAI built into the equation?

The reason I'd like to stay away from the CAI is I've had K&N filters in the past and keeping them clean and oiled was work. Not to mention I read a few articles about those not being the best for your engines if you don't keep them maintained. And face it, it's not hard to forget about cleaning it and 10k miles go past before you think about it. Then it's another good month until you get off your butt and do anything about it.

Thoughts?

We actually do not offer any oiled filters. All of our CAI's are premium dry filters. There is no maintenance needed. If you want to clean your filter all that you need is to use water, simple green and a bucket! There is no need to clean it every few thousand miles. I usually rinse it out every year. But, we can offer tuning for you minus the CAI if you wish. We made the performance packages just to make it simple for you guys to make mods.

If you had an absent minded customer who lost his software disk for the mycal tuner (let's say he only installed the software on his work laptop which recently crashed and had to be replaced), how hard would it be to get another copy of that disk? Or is it available for download anywhere? I feel like I really need to get the 3 bar map sensor on my car soon....and maybe an exhaust and downpipes next year.

There is no disk for our MyCal tuning software. Whenever we retune for your future modifications we also resend you the link to our tuner update software. We do however include all of our tuner and product instructions on our all-new website!
