I'm a novice, I'll start by saying that. I have a major problem that I need to figure out. I finally had my '93 mtx where I thought it was drivable. I replaced some suspension parts, got some SHO wheels and brand new tires. The smaller stuff I was going to wait for later on.
So I pull out of the driveway to take it back to my house from my in-laws house and get about 500 feet down the road and my oil light comes on and some clicking. I'm thinking oil pump. Anyone have any different ideas? I'm honna try to tear this apart and see what I can do. I am very frustrated and my wife wants me to get rid of it, but I love it. Help please. :thankyou:

Was it the red oil light that came on?
If it was, and you hear a knocking sound, you may have spun a rod bearing.
Stop driving it!
There are "how to" guides on this forum that you can follow to change your bearings.

I stopped driving it for sure. And yes it was more of a knocking sound. Yes it was the red oil light. Thank you for your help.

you will need to pull it apart to find out if the crank journals are scored or not. if there are scratches you can feel with your fingernail, then the crank needs replaced/reground.
