quick question for you guys who have done this, since I'm currently looking at replacing the rodbearings, what more is involved to repair the main bearings? Any more info would be appreciated.

I haven't replaced the mains in the car yet, always been out of the car. One thing is, you're going to have to loosen things up somewhat, yet without disturbing the butt-end of the crank, at the rear main. I think you'd have to do one at a time (removal of the caps), with a cracking of the other main caps to provide a little movement, & gently "spin" the tops down to where you can get at them.

Similar to what you do with the rods, but with less gap to let them just "fall" down.

Good luck.

Hmmm...maybe I should just to the rodbearings, I gotta make sure I even need emwith my weird knock issue, I'm actually leaning towards messed up tensioner now. since it happens on and off and only when the accessoreis are under certain load (heat, so the fans drawing a lotta power ,etc...)

Stupid question, but did you check your AC clutch? It'll make a racket if it's on the way out & trying to engage. Disconnect the connector on the compressor & turn your climate back on - see if the "knock" continues.

The Clutch is junk :) and I removed the electrical connection do it..so there's a chance that might be it.
