OK.

Let me get this straight and please do not laugh at me. What is the difference between the MAF sensor and the MAF Meter? are they the same, and if not, then where is each located?

I am pretty sure that the MAF meter is the one that is just beyond the airbox that connects to the throttle body. it has an oval connector with 4 wires coming from it. Is this correct? Please shed some light if I am wrong.

If there is a difference between the MAF sensor and MAF meter then where is the MAF sensor? I am just trying to trace a idleing problem.
(see separate post)

Is the MAF Meter (the one that is in line with the throttle body behind the airbox) SHO specific or does it come out of any other cars? Mustang maybe? Just wondering if I have to replace it if I can ask for anything else? I am pretty sure that it is a 55mm from the factory (at least I think that it has 55 in the numbers on the top of it)

MAF meter and MAF sensor are just two differnt names for the same part. And it is the one you described above. It's also a SHO specific part so if you need a new one, make sure it's from a SHO.

I just added a cold air intake and was wondering if getting a MAF, say 80MM would be an advantage with the new induction over the stocker? I just looks so necked down from the rest of the intake system. Also, are "Tornado"'s worth the $?

Are you saying that a 55mm unit from another Ford won't work?
The Body of the unit will work from some other ford cars, but I do not think any other sensor (the electronic box on top) will work. At least not without an LPM. If you are looking for an inexpensive route that also adds performance, get a 75mm Pro-Flow MAF off of ebay. They are in use by several members with positive results.

The inside diameter of the MAF body is not the only thing that defines the application of the sesnor. The flow characteristics of the sample tube or port and the calibration of the electronics have a great deal to do with the compatability of the sensor with the EEC and the engine.

Did you know that the SHO's original air filter and fender intake path were an excellent, non-restrictive cold air intake system?
