On my never-ending quest for HP, I decided to modify my intake and a put a cone filter on my 1997 SHO. I mocked up a system for my 1993 SHO using Spectre Performance parts and a cheap filter. Instead I want to get a MAF sensor adapter to bolt on so I can just put a K&N on the end and call it an intake mod. Does anyone know where I can find one for a good (cheap) price? My last resort is to make one. One of my buddies made one for his Subaru and his girlfriends 3.0 Taurus. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :hail:

You could get the k&n cone filter e-0940 and put four little holes in the metal and screw it to your maf sensor. That is what I did on my car and quite a few others. There is a write up about it on v8sho

I have one that connects to a 4" hose. Do not put the filter in the engine compartment.

That's exactly what I did. Instead of paying an arm and a leg to get the K&N, I got a cheaper, but just as good, cone filter from AutoZone. It's called "PowerAdder" by Spectre Performance and it was only $24, so if I mess up, no biggie. I didn't and now it has more power and the exhaust sounds SOOOOO much deeper!

I've had all sorts of intake designs over the years. All based on the SHO Shop cone filter and adapter that came with there "cold air" kit. Which is not all that cold.

Quite happy with what I have now and it is the best and keeping the temp as close to ambient as you will get due to silicone hose.

45 degree silicone 3" to 3.5" for the TB to MAF. 4" silicone straight to a 4" 90 that goes though the fender opening. The cone filter connects right to the end of the rubber 90 perfectly and resides in the fender.

Intake wise I quite happy with this setup. Long way from the original SHO Shop heat shield thing it started from. I did find the silicone hose is very good at heat rejection compared to rubber or plastic. Much better than any metal that could be fabbed.

Might try and find a '99 plastic MAF somewhere.

Dude.... that's sexy. Where did you find the silicone hose? Where did you get that MAF adaptor? Is that the start of the filter at the end of the second hose? What kind of filter did you go with?

I got the hose off of eBay. Just search for silicone hose.

The adapter and filter came from the old SHO Shop kit. But any 4" opening cone filter will work. The adapter is a common Mustang part too. The rubber 90 I got in a plumbing section at the hardware store. It is actually 4.5" at the openings so it fits over the 4" hose and filter collar. The rubber 90 will deform enough easily to fit through the fender opening.

Here's another link I was set concerning the hose. I was thinking about increasing the runner length an inch with longer couplers.
