yeah, those vega series subs are pretty nice, but they take a pretty large enclosure.

That they do.. Not a big deal though. I'll probably put that other 10 in the Merkur and get a W7 for whatever my next project is. or maybe another Stroker 15D2 ahhh decisions

Oh man, I'm still struggling fighting off putting a system in the new 6. It's tough, I know what I would want to do, and I have the money to do it, Just don't really want to desicrate my brand new car yet...gah!

Since I got a brand new car and the climate control and stereo share the same display and installing an aftermarket system requires either splicing into wiring, or losing the display. Don't want to void the ******** warranty. It's tricky, not easy like installing a system in a 10 year old car.

well since the 6s comes with automatic climate control, and they integrated one of the circuit boards with the head unit, you have to fabricate a new circuit board and move it around, it's a little different than just sliding in a new head unit and using the existing wires.

That's what I am fighting right now. When I do it, I want to do it right. I'm going to use some vifa 6.5's in the doors and make aperiodic enclosures for them, with vifa tweeters in the sail panels. I have a set of focal coaxials for the rear doors. I plan on powering it with the 8x40 ADS amp I have. I will interface it with the stock stereo using an audio control three.1 eq in the dash pocket. I've got it all planned out, I am just resisting hacking into the harness for the speaker level inputs into the eq. I won't be holding off for too much longer though, I'm getting the itch. ;)

Thats not that bad on the 6, on my cousins '03 GMC Envoy his whole radio had to be moved under his seat because if anything in the radio was spliced etc it would trigger his security system and the truck would not start at all, so he had to buy all of it new and run all new wiring etc but his 18" flipdown is hot now with the rest of the setup, deftinaly not cheap though.

Good at fiberglassing stuff? I was looking around on cardomain to see what people were doing to solve your problem with install and aftermarket deck and found quite a few people fiberglassing in aftermarket decks were the stocker normally is, another option would be keep the factory deck in for looks and put and aftermarket deck in the glove box, or maybe in the center console.

yeah, actually I am good at fiberglassing, however that is not what I want to do. You'll probably note that most of those people are driving the 6i, not the 6s. The i has manual climate control where as the S has automatic, therefore requiring a circuit board to be fabbed/modded in order for it to work. I'm not cool with adding a unit ot the glovebox either, that is just ghetto as far as i'm concerned, I'm not cool with having to make adjustments in the f'n glove box.

Like I said, when I finally do it, I will put an Audio Control Three.1 in the dash pocket, and then using that to interface with my ADS amp. It will keep the stock apearance and function, however it will supply me with superior sound.

Don't get me wrong, the stock system is pretty decent, however it is not up to my standards for SQ, so it will have to be replaced eventually. I figure the longer I wait, the easier it will get to integrate some aftermarket gear. Right now the model is pretty new, and it takes time for new products to get introduced so new gear is easily integrated with the factory stuff.

The stocker is good enough to hold me over until I have the funds and the time to do it right in the first place.

i can see where your coming from. just putting the thought out there to help out a fellow sho owner. I would have to agree with you on the glove box solution, just something ive seen done on some cars that people have fiberglassed lcd screens where there the cd player was.

high end audio

40 watts per channel is pretty anemic, especially for Vifa speakers. I am not a fanatic, but I would say at least 80 watts per channel would be reasonable. Distortion is very ******* speakers. :****:

each mid will be run by two channels bridged, so they will get 80 watts each, the tweeters will get 40 watts, and the rear speakers will get 40 watts. Plus, this is an ADS amp, not a sony, these are real watts, and in reality the amp is probably underated.
