Hello fellow S.H.O.ers,
I daily drive an 89 S.H.O. on a coastal road to work:biggrin:and I love every thing about this car. I was aware of the awesome power and handling as this car was passed down to me from my dad who has owned it since 94. Now in the midst of doing another clutch job (TOB went out at 14k) this site has been a blessing just using the search function and I hope to be able to add my two cents in here and there willingly and learn as much as I can! -Mike

Welcome to the forum, Mike, and congrats on "inheriting" a wonderful automobile! How many miles do you have on it now, and is it still stock? Pics?

Thanks! Yes it is stock but I have been waiting for my ceramic bearing from shosource for almost a month now. The car has 114,000 on it and we did the timing belt at @90 and heater core not too long ago. The clutch was replaced during the recal by the original owner and then again by my dad, and the throw out bearing had been making noise since then. I will get some pics of it later on today. It is such a good road car I plan on leaving it stock for the most part.
thanks!!!!

Wow, sorry to hear! Time to put up an ad in the Wanted to Buy, look thru the parts section also. Rickety Enterprises (located in OH) may have some replacements on hand.

Thanks! Yea I was pretty bummed to say the least but I learned what to look for thanks to this site!!! I'm looking around locally and have found a few for $300 with a warranty for 6 months. I plan on inspecting the trans first before purchase. Next time I see a S.H.O. at my local Pick n pull I'm grabbing the motor and trans!!!!

Hate to hear that about the car, but replacements can be had.

Welcome to the forum!
Thanks! I plan on fixing this as soon as possible!!!

Alright! got up early and went to Pick n Pull. They had a 90 S.H.O. there. Scored a trans and the rod shifter. the seats are in good condition, dropped the subframe with motor. looks like it was well taken care of. its at the Newark CA site. DISCLAIMER (Not my car and I don't work for Pick n Pull.) Now its rear main seal and oil pan time!
