So, I am assuming that lowering springs, for our cars, are the exact same height as a stock spring, they just have different compression characteristics, so the car sits lower.

The reason I am saying this is I just cut 1" of height out of a stock PP rear spring, and with all bolted back up, you can pull the spring out.

Guess I will put in an order for some lowering springs.

The springs are actually lower or shorter. They don't have a different spring rate if that's what you were thinking.
You can't cut the front springs.
The lowering springs are cheap, no sense in not buying them.

Bought some Eibachs. Just put the rears in. Not happy... they rattle something awful at low speeds. Hopefully it will settle down.

Going to get new tires now.

H & R springs lower vehicle more than Eibachs. The H & R's are tapered and therefore firmer the more they are compressed. I have them on my EB Flex and they handle & drive great! Definitely recommend. Firmer than stock but not harsh.

They shouldn't rattle. Something was installed correctly. Did you put the rubber bushings back in for the top of the spring? The shock bolt is tight?
I installed mine with no problems. The ride was a little soft at first but once they settled down they were better.

The Eibach springs are progressive rate springs so as they compress more the rate increases.

Exactly as above... I have Eibachs on my 2013 and they have been installed for some 10K+ miles now, never hear a peep from them.

Opps, I forgot to come back and update. The shock bolt on passenger side was loose. Thightened it up, no more noise. Have over 500 miles on them (and my new tires) this week, and am loving them.

I tried ordering some eibachs for my SHO, only to find out that eibach had discontinued their springs for the gen IV SHO, so I went with the H&R springs that were lower than I wanted, but after I put them on, the car actually sits a lot nicer than I had originally thought it would. It handles much better, and while the ride got slightly stiffer, I didn't lose much of the comfort. Also, acceleration off the line somewhat improved, since it doesn't waste as much time "squatting" before take-off. I am very pleased with the H&R springs.
