when I replaced the two coolant hoses that run from the block to the coolant tank. I snapped a few pics of my secondary valves. I believe this may be after I scredped away a tun of builup and vacuumed it out. I also scraped the lower intake. Seeing as how I only had the money to buy the hose and new hose clamps I didn't have any good cleaner but I would have loved to give those ports and valves a good cleaning. What is the best way to clean them with the intake off and also with it together.

Here are some pics is this normal. Btw primary valves looks fairly shiny.

use hand tools and carefully scrape most of the gunk out, then use something like brake cleaner or throttle body cleaner for the rest

Problem is its all together now and I don't want to take it back apart for awhile. What's the best thing to do while it put together?

What types of brushes are best for this wire type or a bristle type?

Wow... That is a mess... the problem I see is if you put some kind of chemical in there an let it soak for a few years to loosen some of that up, some of the contaminated liquid and goo is gonna leak down to the piston and possibly past the rings and into the oil...

If you are sure the valves are closed fully I would do one by one and try to clean as much out as possible. That is not going to be a fun job... It MAY help if at every half tank fill up (1/8th or less and fill to a half tank) you add the small bottle of lucas fuel treatment so that it is more concentrated cause I imagine the injectors may be dirty too... Maybe a SeaFoam treatment in the intake a few times, a few sessions would help by being able to get on those valves and give you a head start on cleaning them. Good luck.

if you DON'T REALLY WANT TO take apart the intake again to clean it out, seafoam, but be really careful with it, but I say its better if you clean it yourself

Here's the proper way of cleaning it

nothing with tough steel bristles, will harm the aluminum

use carb/throttle cleaner

Use Berrymans carb cleaner or you can get a gallon can of their Chem-dip and soak the butterflies in it.
