6-700rpm is what it looks like. I haven't put my obd on it for an exact. I'll check.

Skyshadow07, did you solve the problem you were having? I have a 2013 with ~130,000 miles doing the intermittent low oil pressure warning light at a stop light or sign once engine is warm issue. Not all of the time, but just started. Engine oil is full, no noticeable noise to be concerned about. I made an appointment at the dealership for Wednesday.

120k to 150k miles seems to be when the oil pressure sender starts causing problems for whatever reason from what I have been reading on various ecoboost forums. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

yup yup. My mech said oil and or moisture got on the wires leading to the oil pressure switch which was causing a short. I ordered a rockauto oil pressure switch but it sucked, got a motorcraft one and it was fixed. You know where the switch is right?

Thanks skyshadow07. Yes I found the location. I took pictures of it before I took it in. See attached. They replaced the switch yesterday and today it is doing the same thing. Once engine is warm, light comes on, tap the gas and it goes off. No concerning sounds from engine bay. I am going to check the air filter next to make sure it isn't restrictive The dealership is going to call me when they have the first opening to check the pressure. I did tell them to do that yesterday, but they saw oil around the location of the switch and thought for sure that was the problem. New oil and filter too.

You need to get some brake clean and clean off that loom and connector. That was one of the things my mech said was very important. Also, holy crap that area is dirty, do you have a oil leak from somewhere above?

I cleaned that area as best as I could yesterday afternoon. I took it back in this morning to have the pressure checked. The dealer will hook up a laptop instead of hooking up a mechanical gauge. They must connect to that port in the block? Not sure because we all know there is no way to read pressure with that sending unit. They are also going to put dye in it due to the large amount of oil in that area and finish cleaning the area that I could not get to.

I did finally install the new air filter this morning before driving it to the dealer, and the RPMs did seem more stable while stopped at a stop light. The filter that I took out was "dirty". Not sure if it was dirty enought to cause a 20-50 RPM variation at a stop light. No low oil pressure light this morning for the 10 minute drive to the dealer, but it usually doesn't come on at stop lights until it has been driven a while. Again the light will go away when you tap the accelerator.

They will tap that spot. That is a switch not a sensor. It simply creates a circuit if oil pressure goes below something like 7psi. I think what is happening to you is the oil and/or gunk is creating a completed circuit mimicking the switch. The car doesn't read the oil pressure via a pressure sensor anywhere in the system. If you're pressure comes back good, thoroughly clean or possibly replace the loom leading to the switch as well as the connector.
