Low Coolant Sensor Cleaning

My low coolant light has been flickerin' on and off on occasion. I have plenty of extra in the resivior so I think that some of the gunk in the bottle might have caused a problem with the sensor. How do I remove the storage tank and remove the sensor for cleaning? Can I get a new sensor from Ford or can I just clean this one. I need to know how to do all this on a ATX as I know the MTX's coolant overflow setup if different. Thanks for any help you can provide.

For the ATX just disconnect the electrical connector, and yank the sensor out of the tank. Recommend cleaning with electrical contact cleaner, and maybe even a brass brush on the contacts if they're really gunked over. I just did it on a car tonight, and although it was not my choice I used Brakleen (all we had) which seemed to work just fine. There was a ton of crud on the contacts.

Don't forget to clean out the bottle too. Flush with a water hose the siphon down to refill with 50/50 coolant.
