Loud squeaking type noise when turning to right

Hello, I have a pretty loud squeaking type noise when turning the car to the right. Basically when I put any pressure on the steering wheel to go to the right. It doesn't do it when I am turning to the left.

Is this a CV joint issue? If so how much to fix and is this fairly simple or a pain in the ***? Anything else it could be?

Well it sound to me like it not a cv joint. When those go bad its more of a clicking noise and it happens upon acceleration in either direction. There are a number of bushings in your front end. Squeaking USUALLY but not always is a result of a worn bushing. They flatten, loose form and allow the metal parts to just rub accross the rubber- causing a squeaking sound. You might want to take it in somewhere and have it looked at. My 93 had a squeaking noise in front right also, and I had the struts and lower ball joints replaced just the other day, haven't had a real good chance of checking, driving it enough yet to see if it has taken care of the problem yet. I hope so cause I sure have put alot of money into the car so far. Anybody who has had a mechanic do the repairs knows. Plus there were other problems like my rear mounts were busted and a couple other things too. Also I read at shotimes a guy said there are spacers that you can have put on front struts if there is a groaning noise too.

Getting worse

I guess I am not sure how to best describe the noise, but the squeaking sound I mentioned isn't the typical annoying squeak you would put up with but a larger noise that happens when turning the wheel. But even when driving straight I hear a noise (almost like every time the wheel goes round its rubbing on something).

Also, it smells like something is burning when really turning the wheel (like turning into a parking spot or making a full circle with the wheel cut).

Any idea on what is going on and what I should replace?

geez I don't know? Unless your piston in your caliper is maybe sticking and its constantly putting pressure on your rotars maybe? I had a friend who had a problem with his truck and I believe it was the piston, but man I tell ya his sh#t would start to smoke even. It was crazy. It's been a while but I think that was what he said it was. I have alot of BS problems with my 93 right now. I just put $1300 in the last month into it trying to fix a squeaky kinda groany problem in the right front end. New struts and ball joints and I still have the noise plus 2 new noises. I'm pretty ****** off I'm kinda sceptical about taking it in any more :sh: Well you may have to take it in somewhere it sounds pretty serious, Good luck with it

Need to bring it to the shop

The noise is very annoying not to mention embarassing when driving anywhere. I am going to see if I can take the front tires off and see if anything looks obvious, or if the brakes are causing any issues. I do know from hearing a grinding noise yesterday that my rear rotors are smoked. I looked at them this morning and felt the surface of the rotor and there are 2 grooves in the rotor, so those definitely need to be replaced and new pads. As far as the front goes not quite sure yet.

Does it do it when you are sitting still... ie car running and you just turn the wheel... is it a squeel or a squeek? could be power steering issue... the rack piston.

If you are driving along and it is squeaking, does it go away if you lightly apply the brakes? That may help you to narrow it down to a brake problem...

BTW I'm going through the same thing right now and I have all new front brakes!!!
