Is it an ATX? Could be a failed timing tensioner. I just went thru that last month.

You could pull front exhaust manafold to see if it gives you better access to different areas in the head. Though pulling the front head is fairly easy.

Have you tried fishing with a magnet yet?

Not Easy, but not hard. You can get to them by pulling the oilpan. Then you unbolt the girdle and oil pickup tube. At that point you are staring at the crank and rod caps. Undo the caps and check the bearings.

Of course you have to remove the y-pipe to get to the oil pan, but if you have the manafold off then the y is already off.

Would there be signs of rod b like metal shavings in oil pan? And also if it was rod bearing wouldent it make sound even when cranking not just car on. How do you put videos on here I will try to make a video for you guys.so you can hear it

as being a leader of throwing rod bearings.... yes, you will have a crap ton of copper and aluminum looking shavings in your oil. just drain your oil first - and use a coffee strainer. If you have a bunch of particles then there is no point to pull the pan. its obvious you threw a rod.

otherwise.... start the car and start pulling spark wires as the car is running. if the noise goes away thats your trouble cylinder and more than likey its a rod bearing. if it doesnt go away - that screw is probably bashed into the piston top and its smacking the cylinder head

Well pulling your wires will determin the source. If all wires pulled and it doesn't go away, its not in your rotating assembly.

And the diff doesn't turn unless your in gear I believe.

Well I pulled off the wires with car on and nothing changed so I pulled the head off and the screw was stuck to the head between the valves they seem to be fine is the indent on the piston going to hurt anything there isent any damage done to cylinder just small spot on top of piston and the spot on the head

Put it back together. If nothing is smashed with cracks radiating from it, it will be OK.
