Not sure if this is related, but shortly after I had the TSB applied to fix my ambient lighting issue, my heated seats almost never work anymore. The lights will show that the seats are on, but they don't heat up at all. Or if they do heat up, it's very little (like I set it for the lowest setting).

I used to never be able to drive more than 5-10 miles with it on full-intensity, but this morning I drove 30 miles and forgot that I had turned the seats on when I started my journey.

I am saying it might be related to the TSB reflash because my wife's 2014 Explorer Sport also had it applied (same issue, ambient color returns to stock color every couple of days), and now all sorts of crazy things are going on in her car. There are times that her headlights refuse to come on (she's had to pull over and shut the car off and then restart it for them to work), her phone refuses to pair other times, etc etc. None of that started until the TSB was applied (she's had it for a year and a half).

Anyone else had this TSB applied and then notice weird things going on with their car afterwards?

my ambient lighting in the drivers side door never worked in my car for past 2 years (bought with it broken). randomly turned on today... guess its not broken lol. the electrical gremlins have been kinda weird in this car. lots of motors and modules seem to glitch out.

Well it's worse than I thought - neither the heated nor the A/C functions are working for either front seat now. According to the display, they're on but nothing (not even the blower sound you hear when you turn A/C seats on). Checked the cartridge fuse in engine bay labeled Climate Controlled Seats and it was fine (visibly as well as tested on my voltmeter). Anyone else have this problem?

Added info - the front seat climate controls work occasionally (I've been able to get them to work twice this week out of 8 trips), so it's not a fuse situation. I'm looking at yet another service visit - my fourth in less than two years of ownership.

Not sure if this is related, but it's certainly weird. The "Exit Feature" of the driver's seat (where it raises the steering wheel and moves the seat all the way back when you turn the car off) suddenly switched itself to ON for a few days. When I went to turn it back off, the setting was "grayed out" and disabled and wouldn't let me change it. Then all of a sudden, it stopped doing it when I exited the car and now when I go into the settings, the system lets me once again select between ON and OFF (I prefer OFF). What in the world...

All of this truly weird stuff started when I had Sync reflashed to take care of the ambient lighting issue.

Could be Sync, could be the APIM which just chose that opportunity to show its' flair. Sounds like a dealer diag is in order.

there also have been some issues with the actual seat heaters failing, at least in MKZ and MKC vehicles, so its possible that the actual heating element is bad. We had a bunch of MKC where we have had to take the front seats apart to replace the heating elements...
