I was making my first run on my new tranny, it pulled hard and was doing great, felt better than my original tranny, but once i got into 4th gear it felt almost like overdrive, it was sluggish and i thought it would take a year to surpass 120

I was about 100-110 in 3rd before 7K rpm and once i hit 4th it felt like it wouldnt pull anymore, i got to 115 and i let go out of depression.

The tranny i got is out of a 89, are the gears at all different? Ive made many runs in my original 92 tranny and ive made it to 140-145 like it was no big deal.

Any info is appreciated

Nope, all the MTX's are geared the same. 89 to mid 91 had all brass blocking rings. Slightly harder to shift. Mid 91 through 95 used paper lined blocking rings. Slightly easier to shift. Now onto your problem. I would venture to guess you have a performance/mantainance problem. Start checking the basics.

oh they are opening for sure, 4200 rpm every time. They are open durring the pull.

Just today i tried it again and it pulled much better in 4th, it was almost as if it needs to be pushed a few times.

Could that be it? maybe the tranny needs to be broken in agian?
