I have had an oil leak for the past few months. I am adding 2-3 quarts every 3-4 days!! thank God for that yellow oil light!! also, it's smoking pretty bad too, which leads me to believe that the oil is leaking onto the exhaust or something else hot and burning off. A friend said it sounds like I have bad cam seals. The smoke is coming from the accessory side of the motor. Luckilly, I have been keeping an eye on it. What should I do?

i had a similar problem, i took off the passenger side wheel and plastic splash shield. i sprayed down the motor with brake cleaner so everything was clean. then you run the car and look to see where the leak is coming from on mine it was the front main seal. i was wondering on how difficult it was and price so i brought it to a shop for a quote they quoted me $800 to change a $15.00 seal. i when to sho phoenix project website and looked at the write up for the front 60k. i ordered the seal and did it. while you are in there you might want to replace a few things water pump, cam seals, front main seal, timing belt, and cps. i didnt do the timing belt and cps while i was in there and they timing belt was messed up and i needed to replace that now and the cps also failed leaving me stuck.

Just go ahead and do the full 60K procedure. You don't want to take all that stuff off any more times than you have to. You can do it in your garage, with mostly normal tools.

Read up on the procedure at sho phoenix project. Print it all out, and just follow it step by step.

There are many parts lists on here to tell you what to get where and how much it will cost. Just do a search on 60K parts list.

Good luck.
