DCD4CFB0 1830 4555 AC4E 1F66C28E6042 I’ve mocked this gauge pod up on the A pillar but I was looking for ideas to clean up the look. Try to match the cloth material on the pillar and re cover it all as one maybe? Thought about running by my local auto upholstery shop and seeing if the wrap the A pillar and the pod.

Thoughts? Thanks DCD4CFB0 1830 4555 AC4E 1F66C28E6042 0DE55142 909C 4B23 B73B D30F6C48B0BC

It is dam near impossibe to get the factory cloth off the pillar without ruining it. My tweeters are now in the sail panels and the factory holes were filled and the pillars covered with dark grey alcantera to match the PP wheel. You said mocked up so if you get the pod integrated smoothly I would cover the whole thing together with one piece of whatever you go with. If you have some gaps between the pod and pillar like you have now I would cover them separately.

I don't think the look is offensive at all. I would only do something if light escapes around the merge points at night with the gauge light on.

I was looking at gauges last night and when I got in the car this morning I realized how few places there are to really mount something like that in there. Your pillar mount looks good. Maybe there's a carbon fiber looking mount that would blend in well with the fabric on it.

You got my wheels turning with this post. Just picked up this OBDII connected gauge. Waiting for the pod mount to come in.

I have been thinking about this.

You could get a second junk yard part. Mark the area you want the pod. Cut a hole and push it through the backside. You can then after the pod to the backside of the trim piece. Some resin, sanding and paint may make it look o.e.m?

It took my custom upholstery shop several weeks, and three different suppliers to finally source the OEM cloth for my A-Pillar, which was completed several years ago. Definitely the right route to go IMHO.

Certainly NOT impossible at all. Sure..... it takes a lot of time/effort, but it CAN be accomplished.

Pics of my set up as proof there of......
