ok, so i've cracked my case open and i'm fishing around inside.
what is it exactly i'm looking for with regards to synchro/blocking ring condition?
let's get one thing straight, i have no idea what to look for. i'll bet it's on the shonut video but mine is acting up (josh is taking good care of me btw
)
just some observations: the bearings look damn near brand new. they have no patterns or marks, scuffs, nothing. and everything looks pretty nice. there aren't any ground up looking parts or shiny spots on the pieces.
there are no jagged edges whatsoever (don't used blocking rings develope sort of jagged edges somewhere around them?). the fiber lining on the rings is damn near black but i don't know if that's normal or not.
please tell me what to be looking for. i havent shifted this tranny myself, but the prior owner says it was never grinded and was in excellent shape (feel wise, he was never inside it). he's been very trustworthy thus far, but i'd rather be safe than sorry.
thanks.
