I received my tunes from Dan last night and loaded Stage 2 and love it. But i know myself well enough that eventually I'll start playing around again. Where I live, higher Octane gas is hard to come by. I have easy access to 91, but that's about it. I have gone through all the threads. I have seen some of you do in fact drive a Stage 4 tune on 91 but baby it. The files Dan provided all seem to be for 91 octane (91 is part of the file name), including the Stage 4 file. The question I have is am I making a risky move moving beyond Stage 3?

I'm not necessarily worried about running a Stage IV... more worried about doing so with 91 octane. I emailed Dan, however I don't think I'll hear back today...

They have customers with 91 octane running stage IV from what I understand. I'd ask on the link I sent you in PM :) There's probably 20+ guys there running their tunes.

I'm getting ready to order from livernois but wasn't sure if I should pick 93 or 91 octane. I live in ky so 93 is plentiful but we travel out west a lot so I wasn't sure what to choose. Anyone have get an answer from livernois?

Since octane boosters are a hit or miss affair, if 93 is not readily available on your trips out west, stick with a 91 tune to be on the safe side. Should not run on 91 octane for an extended period of time if on a 93 tune.

If you feel comfortable switching between 91 and 93 tunes for your trips, or temporarily reverting back to stock, you could do that also.

IMHO.

SHOgirl315 - You can get the 93 tune and be fine with 91 periodically. The ECU will still monitor knock and scale back timing to suit the performance when you run 91. I just wouldn't suggest aggressive driving(drag racing, autox, etc)
