Hello, still relatively new the the SHO community im in need of some assistance on selecting rims. What is offset? What is the proper size rim i should use on my SHO? (92 MTX BTW) Is there an advantage to a 17" to the stock 16s? How About width? Thanks for all your help and input!

Offset is explained here http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.htm The SHO generally requires 38-42mm offset.

You can use any diameter wheel you want from 15-20", it all depends on what you are after. Looks, handling, ride comfort, etc. 17's seem to be a good comprimise. 17" wheels and tires are coming down in price and you can fit almost any aftermarket brake kit behind them. The ride will be silghtly harsher but not too bad.

Wheel width depends on your choice of tire width. A 7" rim whould be OK with 225mm tires, anything wider and you should step up to 8".

I dont think you'd want to go any bigger then a 17' rim anyways. It'll start looking to gaudy!!

Would a 17x8 fit on a gen 1 without fender adjustment?
