Congratulations on your new hobby. You've come to the right place. I see you have a few posts, and you done your homework. It sounds like you have a pretty good chance at a front 60k in your immediate future.
Here's a suggested parts list and a few things I've learned from lots of front 60ks:
Cam seals: yes, you should do them. Timken 1213n seals are like 5 bucks a piece and work great with a thin layer of anaerobic gasket maker. I don't recommend fel-pro seals. OEM ford (motorcraft) seals work really well too.
Timing Belt: I've never payed attention to brand, they've all worked well.
Water pump: Rebuilt, $50 specials work great, but be prepared to do the rest of the water pump-related gaskets and seals, too. Get a water pump gasket set, they don't all come with a water pump.
Crank Sensor: obviously. I've only used the Wells SU242, only because they are available locally and only about $50. Any brand should work great.
Front Main Seal: no brand preference. If they were all in a bucket, I'd probably grab the Motorcraft.
If all you want to do is hack a new sensor in so you can drive it, you can (I've never done this...nooooo) remove the connectors off of the new (or known good used) one and cut the sensor off the old one, tape them together and fish the new one through. Replace the connectors and voila, a 90 minute crank sensor repair. This works great in the auction parking lot!
