I have a 2011 SHO with 70k miles and I have an issue with moving the gear shifter into park (i have to push the shifter up in order for it to register as park) and cannot go into paddle shift mode either. Everything else is great, once I put it in drive there are no issues with the transmission it doesn't seem.

Anyone else seen that before? I am amateur at best when it comes to my mechanic skills so help is greatly appreciated!

Could be a shift linkage or the more common issue with "Shift to Park". If there is a physical resistance, then the shifter mechanism itself may need to be replaced. With a Shift to Park error, a switch fails. This switch CAN be replaced without having to replace the shifter. If you choose to replace the shifter, it is a bit of work but still very DIY.

How old is the battery in your SHO? Any electrical gremlins? I don't think this is the issue here, but something worth a check while you are investigating.

No other electrical issues. But yes there is a physical resistance so it sounds like a shifter is what I'll need :/

Is there a transmission range sensor on these things, and if so, does it seize up like it does on other Ford products?

Yes there is a TRS, and I believe there is a TSB on it also, let me check.

Here it is
http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=171188
Some 2009-2011 Edge, MKX, Taurus, Flex, MKS
and 2010-2011 MKT vehicles built
3/13/2009-6/30/2010 and equipped with a 6F50 or
6F55 transmissions may intermittently exhibit
slipping/neutral out, 5th gear start from stop,
electronic PRNDL error, backup camera on in Drive
or speed control dropping out intermittently, this
may be due to high resistance in the transmission
range (TR) sensor.
