Lighting Problem! Need HELP!

My headlights, rear running lights and dash lights are not working. However, my brake lights and high beams still work as well as all of my interiors. Taking it to the dealership is a waste of $, should I get a new wiring harness?? Not sure what to do and would appreciate some help. Thanks. Also, the other lights, as well as the radio and clock flicker at times.

Always the first place to start T/S lighting is the MFS. See if the connectors are burnt. Otherwise the switch contacts may be gunked up with hard old grease. Try cleaning the switch with WD 40 and working all the motions.

I looked at it a bit more today. When I turn the headlight switch, it makes an electrical sparking noise which makes me think it is shorted. Considering all lighting that is activated by the switch does not work, I am assuming that I just need to replace the switch. Also, when the switch is turned, my radio lights flicker and fade. ( They normally dim ).

I tried the new headlight switch and it still doesnt work! Any ideas???!!!

Was the headlight switch connector burnt? Have you looked at the MFS and connectors? Have you checked for voltage at the MFS connector? Have you checked resistance between the MFS and the headlight switch?

The headlight switch and the MFS appear to be fine. I pulled out the MFS and it is clean with no burnt connectors. The headlight switch is also clean. All the of MFS functions work, whereas none of the headlight switch functions do. How do I check resistance and/or voltage? I disconnected the MFS, then tried the headlight switch and it did the same exact thing. The headlights flickered and went out and the radio lights dim on and off. Also, the headlight switch started to smell burnt. Where do I go from here? Can I buy a new wiring harness? Should I just rewire the headlights with a new switch and relay?? This sucks.
