well, looks like street racing has invaded small town Texas. Saturday nite i found a kid driving an Eclipse. i could hear the familiar whistle that only "special" cars have. when he goosed it, you could hear the BOV. we asked me if i "wanted to get up and boogie", i kindly declined because 1) we were in town, 2) i overheated my plugs racing a Z71 earlier on I-10, and 3) i roasted my rear pads and rotors racing the Z71. but i asked the Eclips owner how much boost he was running...8 lbs on a fresh rebuilt motor. as soon as i get my car back in top running order, ill try and get my **** handed to me.

it seems that the ricers hang out at the local A-Z but not for long, Kerrville PD runs em off pretty quick. i dont know where else they hang out, but ill definitely find out and make some friends. it seems A-Z is hiring here and their hiring ethics are different than up in Arlington. just from talking with the Manager, who took interest in my car, hed hire me if i showed up dirty from working on my car. he was impressed with the few upgrades ive done with my car, and hed like to ride in it with me down 16 just south of town(all the twisties, hairpins, and switchbacks).

also, there is now an O'Reillys here now, so getting SHO parts wouldnt be too big of a problem now. A-Z, Napa, CarQuest, and O'Reilly are all here. as well as Home Depot and Lowes (for those home fab builders like me).

other than the above stated, not much has changed. but this is just the beginning.....we shall see what develops for me and my new life.

Good luck to you Dale!

Last night I went up to the local cruising spot ( SW Military ) with a buddy of mine and on the way back got challenged by an older Camaroon the highway.

I overrevved the engine ( DOH!! downshifted into second at 85 mph instead of going into 4th. ) but was able to catch it in time so nothing happened.

I did grease the Camaro however, he didn't look to happy with me because he tried twice and died twice. The fool even tried me in some curves.

umm dale, stock dsm's run 12-13 psi, and thats before you pull the boost restrictor. either 1) he doesn't know what he's talking about 2) he's lying and trying to trick you. so i don't think he'd be a problem.

i just drove my buddy's '95 Talon TSI AWD the other night, brand spankin' new TD05 16G hangin' off of the manifold. the only way we can keep from hitting the fuel cut is with a slit in a vacuum line while everything is heat soaked. but that's only the first three gears, highway it hits every second or so. we really need to get that boost control issue worked out.

but have fun out there, and on the 12th my mom should be rolling by in her white '94 on her way to ft. stockton around about 1:30-2 i believe. so keep an eye out.

call me old school, but i dont keep up with import stuff, mainly domestic. he was prolly in first gear when he goosed the throttle at me (i was in 2nd) while doing 25 MPH. nonetheless, i have work to do on my car before i can race again. the heat down here is outrageous. low 90s, high humidity...heat index 110-115. and working in a shadeless driveway just aint my thang.
