A little progress today. Big thank you to @TimboSHO for getting me some much needed parts!

Radio bezel and radio are in! I turned it on but have no sound and the CD player doesnt turn on.

So here's the situation in the trunk. Just like it left the factory!

Drivers side trunk. Stupid fat fingers.

Pass side trunk. No fat fingers.

So I moved on to change our that hideous, 2000 civic dx ricer shift **** with a different one(thank you timbo!), and found this. A homemade attempt at a short throw shifter I guess. I'd really like to meet the guy who owned this car and made this mess and beat the **** out of him.

But this arrived today so I guess it's ok. (Thank you @LOUDSHO92!)

So my concerns now are this:
Do I need to get a factory amp and resolder the hack job?
Or do I just buy an aftermarket deck and make it work?
There's lamp cord(seriously) running to the fronts and the rears are just hacked in. I'll run an FM transmitter to keep a factory deck so I'm not to concerned with that yet. I'm just tired of hearing the busted ass suspension rattling around!

So with the rod shifter will my shift boot work? It looks like it's missing something. The boot isn't flush with the console and doesnt have a plate/ring on the bottom. And there was a thread about welding something to make the rod shifter less sloppy? Or drilling out something and doing something? Where is that happening?

Thank you in advance for dealing with my myriad of questions and problems. But I know you guys are just as happy as I am keeping another SHO on the road! Well, maybe not AS happy as me, but you know what I mean...

There are a lot of articles on the factory set-up for the radio on this forum, so you should be able to have the original system if that is your goal.

I got a lot of help from SV&HODan when I rescued mine.

If you plan on running the stock setup obviously the wiring will have to get back to stock configuration and you will have to figure out what the stock configuration was. Not sure if that year was all JBL with sub or not. I forget over the years. There is some info in this thread

If it came with a factory sub you may have an issue finding one that still has good paper and surround due to age. There is a way to replace the speaker with aftermarket in the stock enclosure. So if stock setup is important to you you can explore this.

If it were me, I would get a more modern setup and enjoy it more. Personal preference in appearance at this point. I'm sure the speakers are not still all original due to age and previous owner doing stuff to it with lamp cords.

I'm not too concerned with appearance. I'm pretty sure I have the amp bypass so I might just go that route. I had some top of the line Sony xplodes I can see in the rear. That's all gonna come out.

This link should help with your rod shifter replacement. Shosource has replacement parts for the rod shifter if they are loose at the joints. If you got the shifter from Loudsho, they may have already be upgraded, you can ask him.

I've read that post many, many times already. I have a pretty good idea of what to do. But one thing I do best is mess things up so we'll see how it turns out.
