Over this winter i will be making some led panels to fit inside of my taillights. I ordered 100 15,000 mcd LED's off of ebay and im going to buy some perforated circuit board to wire up 50 for each taillight. The Item number for the leds i bought is 7559451699.For each taillight i want to have 5 rows of 10 leds and have two rows on for driving lights and all 5 for brake or turn.

i have seen those on ebay before and i have the same ones but blue, anyways, do you think that 2 rows would be enough fo the running lights? and how would you be wiring this? i like the idea of 50 per side :) keep me up to date with progress

Not really sure how i will wire it up just yet as i didnt really think it out yet and i just ordered the red leds, i bought 100 white leds i was going to put them in the fish tank and never got around to it so the progress for the tail lights will be slow. Once i get an idea of what im doing for the wiring ill post something here.

I have LED assemblies in my tailights (3" round arrays). They look pretty good but if I ever have a few months to **** at a time I might make my own arrays and do something different.

Check out www.hidplanet.com for good writeups and pictures of LED (and HID) retrofits. I don't think many people here have tackled this before.

ManySHOs, do you have 2 different brightnesses when the brakes are applied or signals are on? if so how with LEDs. my problem that i keep thinking about is how i am gonna get a difference in running lights and signals/brake with LEDs.

Yes I do. I went with pre assembled arrays because the wiring was already taken care of and the assembly was sealed and DOT approved. All I needed to do was wire it into the SHO's wiring harness and find a suitable plug n' play LED flasher (as well as mount the arrays in the housings and seal it all up).

Buying these things pre made is a lot cheaper than buying individual quality LED's. You can use any LED's but vehicle grade LED's are typically more expensive. The only disadvantage is that you are limited to what shape or array style you purchase.

50 led's per fishtank...

No no no, even though that would be cool and very bright but would not fit in any way, i meant 50 per tail light assembly, just one a set of taurus tails for 10.50 on ebayBiggrin
