Can you use a LED flasher on the LED tail lamps to flash the rings, turn signals, etc?

I'm not really sure what you are referring to here by the term "LED flasher" and "flash the rings". Are you referring to a 2013 Taurus that already has LED taillights, or are you referring to swapping out the incandescent bulbs for LEDs?

Assuming you are wanting to swap out for LED bulbs, then no, the flash rate is determined internal to the Smart Junction Box (SJB) rather than a separate flasher unit like was used years ago.

I just installed some Spyder brand LED tail lights on my 08'G8 GT. The LED lights for brakes and tail, literally plug into the bulb socket. Everything else is stock bulbs. I am not familiar with any LED tail lights for 2010-2012 Taurus... My 2010 Flex Ltd does have LED tails.

Like anything else... THE INTERNET... is your friend when you are looking for almost anything.

Sorry, 2013 SHO. I would like to flash the blinkers and the halo rings using a flash pack. Are the oem LEDs operated off 12v? I can run a meter across it but figured I would ask around first.

I'm a LEO and would like to trigger these tail lamps when all the other emergency lighting turns on. Would look cool to flash the rings and blinkers since they are led.

This can be done, but use a flasher that will isolate the flasher from backfeeding into the car while it is powered up. A Whelen UBF5150 or SSF5150D should do the trick. Do not use a no name brand or chinese knock off flasher! The Whelen units will not backfeed the cars electrical system.

Thanks. I was just confirming the leds run off 12v and not less. Have not had time to get the meter out yet.
