According to Nick Chrimes who did some work on my car, he believes I may have one or more injectors leaking on my '89.

The original stock injectors have 370,000 miles. I've used the Red Line Fuel Injector cleaner regularly.

I can't send them to be replaced or have all of them cleaned because the SHO is the only car I have.

What injector brands are available for the '89 (?) - Ford, Accel, etc. - and what are the size of the stock injectors on the '89?

What larger size injectors can be installed on stock engine. If more types can be installed, then have a higher chance of finding them used.

Injectors shown on carparts.com are very expensive - $145/ea, so I may go hunting through Pick-Your-Part (or whatever it's called) and other junk yards to find them.

But the probability of finding a Gen 1 SHO there is unlikely and more unlikely as time goes by.

Thanks.

Go to the clasifieds on the board and look for parts cars and see if you can get one. Any year MTX injector will be fine.

What I would recommend is finding a used stock set (either here or from Nick), they should go for cheap. Then send them to http://www.witchhunter.com/ and for $17 per injector he will make them like new.

OK. sounds good. Thanks.

FYI I did find a kit on carparts made by Kemparts called "Fuel Injector Seal Kit".

The image of the kit contains what look like two o-rings (not sure if they are the same size) and a rubber "plug" with a hole in it and a molded ****** top.

The kit is for one injector and costs $31. So it would cost about $190 to do six injectors.

Would this be the equivalent to what witchunter would do or do they do more when they revamp an injector?

The fuel injector seal kit is for the seals at the top and bottom of the injector at the fuel rail and into the head. Shop around and you should be able to find the seals for the fuel rail and the head for less than $30 per injector.

He cleans them, flows them, checks them for problems, and then puts new o-rings and pentle caps.
