Too busy...
I have a 93 atx that leaks tranny fluid like a seive. It had a blown motor when I bought it so I put a junkyard 3.2 in it and didn't replace any seals on the tranny while I was at it. Don't ask me why because I'll just tell you that I'm a ******* sometimes and I really hate to have to admit that more than absolutely necessary. Ha, now you don't have to ask. Anyway, I had a shop and a forklift when I replaced the motor so I just unbolted the subframe and shocks and lifted the car off of the subframe, almost too easy. Now I don't have any kind of lift, let alone a shop and I need to drop the tranny to fix the seals. I am much more familiar with the mtx trans than the atx and I need to know, first of all if there is enough room to separate and drop the trans out the bottom like you can an mtx or do I have to **** the whole package again? Also, what are my options for refreshing the transmission once it's out? I don't believe it need a complete rebuild, but it would go a quart low every 600 miles or so and I'm a little worried that it might have been damaged some because of this. Your thoughts are appreciated. The car is just sitting right now because I have two mtx's and a two wheeled yamaha that I use to get around and it's supposed to be a donor car (3.2 and nice black interior) for a later project. Until then I have a family member who needs a decent car that gets good gas mileage and is cheap to insure so I need to get it running reliably. Thanks, Chris.
