it leaks around the water pump...does that mean i need new gaskets? its supposidly had a new w/p put in it at 120K...it now has 198K new waterpump? one more thing (its been doing this for a long time (at leas 3000 miles or more) my tach somtimes doesnt work....and when it does work it reads very slowly...i accidently hit the rev limiter once and it only revved to about 5K (according to the tach) but i know for a fact it was WAY more then that can anyone give me some hints as to what is wrong? CPS was replaced i think around the same time the water pump was...it seems to run really really good..no check engine lights or anything...just the annoying leaking coolent and crazy tach somtimes

You need to do your front end 60K, it's overdue and is in need. Leaky WP has screwed your CPS up. Do the timing belt and front main seal while you're at it.

accidentally hit the rev limiter???......it's meant to be hit. that's what it is there for. Rev it up and hit it again and the tach should start working better. it's not bad to hit it. Don't worry. The engine can take it.

well my dad and i have decided to do 3/4 of my 60K timing belt w/p cps crank seal...im kind of exited to know that i wont be needing much for a while...now the whole valve lash thing is that the hardest part? if i dont do it will i lose alot of power? or i mean will i gain alot of it if i do do it?...cuz basicly i hear a fully tuned up SHO is hard to beat thumbs_u

If you do it and it was needed, you will regain any power that had been lost. Doing regular maintenance does not magically boost your horsepower above its original potential.
