Lamp Out Indicator

So when does the "Lamp Indicator" light light up?
I noticed that the passenger side inner brake light was out today and the "lamp out" indicator never indicated it to me.
Is it only for the turn signals or headlights?

I think it only comes on when a dash light is out.

My lamp out worked on my rear brake lights and turn signals.

My lamp out indicator comes on when I've got a brake light out or a turn signal out (flashes on and off with the turn signal).

My lamp out indicator comes on when I've got a brake light out or a turn signal out (flashes on and off with the turn signal).

Never seen the turn signal but seen it whenever you are applying the brakes if that's what's out. If it's a headlight or running light it will just be on whenever the lights are on.

The lamp out only works on the outer brake lights, the inners are not monitored...

That's true because I have one out on my 95 and didn't know it until I followed my wife in the 92 one day.

I had a corner blinker out and the indicator did not light up. It did light up when my headlight was out.

I've got the opposite problem, the light stays on all the time on my wife's 96 and no lights are out.??????

My fog lamp was out and the lamp out light stayed on till I replaced it.

It also comes on when you're low on wiper fluid and you try to use the washers...

Not on my Gen II. Low washer light is a separate bulb from the lamp out warning. Are Gen Is different?

I've got the opposite problem, the light stays on all the time on my wife's 96 and no lights are out.??????

Either the lamp out warning module is bad or the wire between the module and the instrument panel lamp is shorted to ground.
