This is more or less directed at Paul and may in fact lead to a discussion on this.

Do you have a carbon fiber hood on your red car with the KONIs on the front? The reason I ask is that I found that the adjusters at the top of my KONIs have worn a hole on both passenger and driver sides where the hood closes. I can get a pic later, but I've been busy. I'm just wondering if its a clearance thing with the carbon or if it would mess with the metal as well. I could always throw my steel hood back on, but I really don't want to. That thing is heavy.

I would have never noticed this if I hadn't been showing a buddy and scrutinizing over my car.

Yes I do have the CF hood and the Konis but it is not a cowl hood. No wear there.

The girlfriend has my car for work right now. I can get pics tomorrow. Maybe the brace comes up farther on the back of the cowl hood. It doesn't look like it from the other pics I have.

I got mine from SHO Source. But you just need the Gen 2 SHO inserts and then put them in the Gen 3 housings.

a little off topic, but what are you guys with the cf hoods using for hood props?

Mine is a hacked up rod off a first gen Neon. Mine also fits in the space between the mega fuses and my mount point.

I got mine from SHOsource as well. The price they charge to have them all assembled is a steal in my opinion.

At least it looks good! But what is that used for?

To prop the hood open, have you been drinking the Kool aid? First the gas question and now this

Ahh.. well shit.

I didn't read the quote in that post. Makes sense now. I thought that bar had something to do with the KONI's.. no wonder.

Sorry for the delay. I had a viewing to go to upstate yesterday and I've been tearing apart my steering to replace some tie rods and had to fix some other things along with it.

The drivers side is much worse, but they definitely hit and have worn into the fiberglass underneath.

I was under the impression that there was currently only one manufacturer of both the cowl and the stock style hoods.

Carbon EFX.

Must be the difference between the OEM style and the cowl style.
