Knocking Noise

Iv searched for this topic but couldnt find what I was looking for. But for awhile now Iv noticed a knocking/ticking noise in my engine bay somewhere. I thought it was my throwout bearing but I recently had a new MTX, ring gear, clutch, throwout bearing, etc installed and it didnt fix the noise. It only happens when Im at a complete stop. It goes away when I put the clutch in and when I give it a slight rev. But if Im not doing one of those it makes this noise. Anyone know what it could be? Thanks!

It sounds like the throwout bearing. What was installed?

Every transmission part was replaced when the work was done a few weeks back. And for SHOCal, Im already joined under the same name. Im always looking at the meet pics you guys have. Im located in the Bay Area and have always wanted to come along to one some day.

Throwout bearing or your fluid level is low-I am betting TOB-M

What TB was used? If it goes away with the clutch then I wouls say TB.

Yeah I saw that later on.

Ya I just went to the transmission shop I had it done at. Everything was fine but they flushed the fluids and put all new tranny fluid in and the noise did go away somewhat. So Im wondering if its a bearing in the motor of some sort now. But LOUDSHO92 next time you guys have a meet somewhere in NorCal pm me! It seems like a blast. And thanks for your help on the noise issue.

What TB and clutch were installed? Some TBs can be very noisy.

Well if it goes away when the clutch is pushed i nthen it is TB or clutch related as the motor is always going.

I have the same knocking noise. Goes away when I give it gas, and comes on when I idle.

I have a clean sho and this engine ticking makes it look like a *************. Well, sound like one at least.

The TB is just a standard OEM, whichever the lasest brands are its most likely one of those. And the clutch is also a standard OEM. Again im not sure what kind. Possibly remanufactured? The reciept just says cltuch and TB and then the price.

Im thinking it is the TB. Because like you said when the clutch is in it goes away. But if the clutch is out then it makes the noise.

Okay then yeah its the TB. You can see fi it goes away or stays the same. If it gets worse tehn take it back.
