well, heres the update, oil light caame on and was on for a few days i checked the fluid level, it was fine, then i was driving down the st and it started knocking louder and louder, then i was losing power quickly, i just pulled it over and left it there, anyone wanna buy a project? i thinnk its the oil pump but i dont know much about these cars.

yup, its gotta be the rod bearings. your in for a new engine, or at least a new crank if you wanna deal w/ that.

The oil light is not for fluid level. It's a pressure light. The second a pressure light comes on, stop the vehicle.

The only idiot light that worries about oil level is the CHECK OIL light or LOW OIL, depending on the vehicle. The low oil light GENERALLY comes on before the pressure light if it's low.

You most likely lost oil pressure due to a failed rod bearing, as stated above. Looks like it's time for a 3.2 swap!
