Hi all,
I'm posting this little experience of mine for archiving purposes, and for the benefit of anybody in the future that has the same kind of trouble.
A few days ago, I went out to my '94 MTX and started it. To my horror, I heard what I would describe as a significant 1/rev knocking (hammer on anvil) that would come and go. My first instinct was to assume that I had spun a bearing or something of the sort. After a brief panic, I discovered that the a/c pulley was wobbling quite a bit, in time with the knocking. The pulley has been successfully replaced (once out, it was obvious that it was tired), and now i'm out of the woods.
Sorry for the long story, but I thought this might save somebody some undue panic in the future. A big bad knock isn't necessarily a grenaded engine.
