Are the trunk latches the same in keyless entry cars and non-keyless cars? My car does not have the keyless, but I would like to install a remote trunk pop to my alarm. If it has the actuator built in, we should be able to just run a wire to the alarm and will work. But, if they're different, I'll have to find a latch out of a keyless car.

Thanks :thumb:

my 91 had the same one that an 89 had
my 91 is keyless (not remote keyless), the 89 was not

they have two slots for the cables to attach, one for the electronic release and one for the manual

you will not have the electronic release device if you do not have keyless, I'm not sure about the electronics though

if you have the key pad on the side then it is bult in. If you don't then I think it is not built in.. It shouldn't be hard to go to the junk yard and get one and the wires and wire it in. there is no button on mine to pop the trunk it is still done by cable in the car. I think I will add one from a newer Taurus.

I hate to be a threadjacker, but my trunk no longer pops up when i flip the switch on the driver's side floorboard. Gas cap cover still pops open but no dice on the trunk. These are cable operated right? Anyone have this issue?

Thanks,
