Hey guys. Got a new concern unfortunately. Car isn't responding to my key fob anymore. I replaced the battery on the fob as the initial thing I thought may be wrong but still nothing. I don't have the spare (somehow lost in my house) so I cant test it with the other one. Anybody have or had a similar concern? The key pad still senses the proximately of the key so I'm not sure what's going on. Wanted to ask you guys before I started having my guys diagnose it.

Thanks!

Does the fob not work to unlock the car but will allow it to start or do you get the "No Key Detected" note when trying to start the car as well? Are you sure the battery you installed is good?

Yah the battery I replaced was good. It wont unlock the car but it starts the car, and does not say "No Key Detected".. its weird.

Should be a CR2032 battery (lithium button cell).

That is odd that the proximity recognizes the fob as does the ignition, but it won't unlock the doors. Have you tried locking the doors with the fob, or popping the trunk with the fob? Maybe the button for the unlock function is worn out.

None of the buttons work to function as they should. However ill approach the car when its locked, touch the key pad by literally just swiping my hand down it and it will unlock, car starts and everything but the buttons are just not working.

You might have some minor gunk built up under the buttons that have tarnished the contacts. If it were my keyfob, I'd take out the battery, get some electronic contact cleaner spray (Radio Shack carries this, < $20), put on some rubber gloves, soak the buttons, press the heck out of them while wet (again NO battery installed), let it completely dry, and you should be fine. Or just get it replaced. I had a similar problem with a camcorder, did this a couple times, and it was good as new.
