Maybe another reason to upgrade the turbos. Probably common with catless downpipes because it lets too much oil past the shaftseal. 72k miles worth. Oil always been full even with 10k mile oilchanges

Maybe dipstick down the intercooler pipe on passenger side at throttle body. Thats what i did first and it had a bit on stick then jacked front left up for it to all go to right front and drilled a hole. But drilling a hole is a commitment once ya dun made it. Weight reduction son. Whats the saying. 100lb equals .1 time off 1/4. Well that 1/8inch hole in plastic that probly weighs .0005 oz of plastic chips......uh

What exactly did you use to plug the hole afterward?

Get a 3/4 inch drill bit and go to town on the frame. Weight reduction son. Or just invent a wireless frame and cordless exhaust system, more weight savings for the 1/4mile

I didnt plug it like i was gunna. Saw no change in boost psi or feel any or hear any. Setup on the sho you can make a 3/4 inch hole and probly not see any amount of boost change because it is a continuous loop intercooler. Unless i mathed and scienced wrong. If its a one time deal just put a little stainless taper screw into the hole then with a little seal of somesort. But i didnt see a boost change with a little hole and other dont also, even the f150 guys or the engineering tests on youtube. Ill seal mine up soon just so i dont have to ever wonder if it will cause issues

i actually prefer driving on 95, compared to 695. 695 is a mess and construction takes FOREVER lol. I do try and pick my times to be in the madding crowd LOL.

Yea. I live in hanover pa but anywhere in maryland is close to me. I did drive to work for a few months. Now i just ride the van with a few other people because 695 is a mess no matter what time it is. Its my daily nap as a rider. Cant beleive you live down there, thats not traffic to you that normal life/commute haha

Spoke too soon. Drove fine till i got on 695. Doing around 60 then cel light came on flashing. Felt like a dead miss and as im still doing 60 it goes out and drives fine then comes back on for 10mins then goes out and drives fine for 10mins. Whole way till i get to work. Then cel went away at idle but felt little choppy again. Got me man. Coil and plugs are new. Same code 302. Maybe ill do injector for the heck of it because there isnt anything else wrong i can find. The wires on the block that people say chaff, they look new still. Got me lost

695 truly is the devil. Stay away!!!

Yeah, I think injector will turn out to be at fault. Also take time to scope the intake manifold to see possible uneven accumulation of PCV related deposits. Intake valves too if you have not borescoped them already.

I ordered from rockauto. Motorcraft 88$. Ill install myself. Ill get some tools for to put oring on it and stuff. Reading some things online about it. Might as well learn to do them myself because dealer is expensive for 1 injector installed

I should be alright. Just worried about the highpressure fuel pump. Im very very mechanicly inclined. Im just not used to working on this engine so i gotta learn it just like i had to learn my 1.6l miata engine, its pretty complex for 1989 block stamp also. Im used to carbs haha

I found yesterday when i changed the plugs that on cylinder 2. The one im having issues with all the time recently. One side of the plug electrode has a black spot. Just 1 side. Idk if thats from then injector working too much like stuck or not at all. But all other spark plugs were good and evenly colored around the electrode. Ill get a picture of it later.

The HPFP is probably the easiest major part on the engine to remove/install, luckily. As long as you don't create leaks in the process, good to go :D

SBS did an excellent writeup
https://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,6499.msg100759.html#msg100759

EBPF also has a thread with one user's experience with the injector replacement process, video-d.

Dunno what would cause the black spot, usually some kind of arcing. Could be a one time event something got stuck to the electrode and is disrupting the combustion cycle if large enough.
