Indeed. OCI is still king, no matter the brand of oil.
Im actually pretty sure that a k&n filter or any other type can hurt the turbos on this car because motorcraft has a special silicone valve to hold oil in the filter during startup until it is heated enough to relieve it. Ive never seen it on any other filters. Its used alot in aerospace industry for smaller turbine engines because the thicker cold oil can "hurt" turbine or even car turbos. Thats just what they say. I aint never seen no car blow up from a filterI run Mobil 1 and I buy it at Walmart. 6 quarts (One 5 quart and One 1 quart) with a K&N oil filter for $36 bucks. I reset my oil life monitor to 50% and change it at 3000 miles or if the oil life monitor hits 5% (whichever is first). Cheap and easy insurance, takes me 20 minutes from start to finish.
