hey guys. this morning on my way to work i noticed ny temp gauge was goin all the way up to "O" and i would lose heat and then it would drop back below "L" where it normally sits and i would get heat back. it did that all the way to work and when i got out of my car i noticed a huge puddle under the car. i popped the hood only to find coolant leakin out up at the top of the drivers side. the main hose didnt appear to be leaking but i was in nice clothes and i wasnt about to mess with it. the top of the tranny was soaked in coolant so i am guessing the hose is in that general area. changin the hose isnt my problem, i am wonderin how it blew? this is the 2nd hose breaking in a week. i fixed the first one and drove all the way to pittsburgh with no trouble at all yesterday, then i drive 15 miles to work and kaboom. could this be a thermostat sticking and it keeps blowing out the weak hoses or is this a bigger problem?? any help would be great.

If you have one hose blow it's a good idea to change them all if they are the same age.

FWIW you can replace all the hoses with generic bulk hose but the one on the oil cooler that is U shaped. A lot cheaper than getting the molded ones. There is one going to the heater core that is 3/4" x 5/8". You can get an adapter at an autoparts store for cheap.
