Well It wasnt the biggest SHO meet by far but it was definitely a fun one. I showed up at the church at around 11:30am and smoked a few cigs while I waited for the rest of the group to show up. A few minutes later, Ryan (ryein7 ersumshit) showed up in his white gen 1. The P/O had hacked off the mufflers so it sounded like a swarm of Honduhs but his brand new suspension mod list more than made up for it. Shortly after, Paul (Nebraska SHO) and Joe (Jthod) rolled up in Joe's white gen 1.

We headed over to Gate's BBQ for some good ol' KC BBQ and boy was it good! From there, we drove about 20 minutes south to Sadler's Indoor Racing for some 55mph cart racing. On the way there, Ryan and I decided to do some roll races. From 3rd gear at around 60mph, we hit it and Ryan's SHO inched away from me from 60-75. By the time I was hitting 5500 rpms, his 2 foot pull was up and I started walking by. Paul was driving Joe's SHO and for some reason, he couldnt find the gas pedal. This so happens to be a reoccurring theme for the SHO meet as you will soon find out. :snicker: Ryan soon showed us how not to heat up his tires as he took the exit ramp at 60 mph and began to swerve back and fourth. I looked back and I swear I saw the Taurus emblem on his trunk facing me shortly before he steered out of his near death suicide. Ryan and I zoomed into Sadler's tires squealing and secondaries rumbling and proceeded to speed park our cars in the back of the lot. Seconds later, we looked across the street and saw an Olathe, KS cop sitting in the opposite parking lot watching us. :oogle:
The 4 of us got in our carts and began to take off. Within 50 feet of the start line, I had already passed Paul in my cart. From there on out, Joe, myself and Ryan had the top 3 lap times for the session. Poor Paul couldnt find the gas pedal as he was a few seconds behind our lap times. Like I said, slow Nebraska drivers was the theme of the meet :nut:

By the time we got out of our carts, all 4 of us were dripping sweat and I now have a giant bruise/missing skin across my lower back from where my belt was rubbing. Ryan and I were bumping ******** and playing chicken for the last 5 minutes of the race. I am surprised we did not get black flagged and kicked out. It was seriously a faster version of bumper cars between him and I. I'm pretty sure some of my blood is still sitting on the track as I type this.

We didnt get to go to Sonic for a cruise as it was 90 degrees and humid as **** down here in KC. So we just sat in the parking lot for a while and BS'd about everything. We also got to see just how bad my front motor mount really was. I think my engine rocked a good 2 inches while doing the test. :woohoo:

All in all, it was a fun day. It could have lasted a bit longer but when its eleventy billion degrees out, it makes sitting outside not much fun. From our conversation, it looks like me and maybe Ryan will be heading up to Joe's place in August sometime for a 4+ car super SHO tech meet. I will be installing some of Ryan's polyurethane motor mounts, my 24/26 sway bars, bias plugs, and a complete brake upgrade on all 4 corners. If I get enough money saved, I will also throw in some various suspension and subframe bushings. :thumb:

Paul and Joe are probably just south of St. Joe, MO right now so in a few hours, I am sure they will post up the pics that we took today so stay tuned!

Thanks again Paul and Joe for driving down to Kansas City to visit us! It was fun. I look forward to our next meet. Maybe we can get the police involved next time. And Ryan, try not to take out any more highway dividers. They are a bitch to replace. Trust me. It takes all day long. :laugh_ti:

Oh, and Ryan... Let me know when you are going back out to Arrowhead for the AutoX event. I might try to stop by and find out how easy it is to eject some diff pins.

Thanks agian for a great time you guys!!! Good drive despite the heat, and got 30.2mpgs on the way down. :woohoo:

The drive back was pretty good until we got to the west side of Nebraska City, and all **** let loose 60-70 mph winds, marble sized hail, and rain/wind that looked like drifting snow. I got some good videos, but it may be a while before I can get them posted. I'm still living in the 56k stoneage. I caught lightning hitting the center of the highway, or some thing close to it. After that every lightning flash looked exactly like that one for about 30 seconds.:oogle:

I got a few good pictures, but it will take me while to get them up too.

I'll get a thread started for Joe's SHO Shop/Party/Campout/????.

About to go a long ways past 60mph:

I stopped my pull around 5500rpms in 4th... Ryan kept going as he entered that turn. It sure is a lot more sharp of a turn when you are going 130 mph. :laugh_ti:

Flipping the bird as I'm taking up 2 lanes of highway

it was amazing watching the storm roll through with how quick the viz went. I could see a couple hills over from where I lived and about 5 minutes later I couldn't see much past the house across the street because the next terrain feature is at lest 1/3 mile away.

sounds like you guys had more fun than I did at my grandmas house celebrating her 81st birthday with the family.

tomorrow is gonna suck because I have to do a colorguard in Omaha and then drive my brother's bike to Lincoln cause he's too ******* cheap to buy a bike rack for his car.

Well we are probably going to be meeting up at Joe's house sometime within the first 3 weeks of August... So that means you have zero excuse to not make it! We need mroe gen 3's in our armada.

<<<Has a secret underground love for gen 3's. :dribble:

well, from a rear view of his 'suspension test', It looked like a NASCAR driver warming up his tires before the green flag. He was going back and forth progressively wider and faster. Then I hear tires squealing and Paul and I say "OH SHIT!!!":oogle::oogle: (Paul was driving my car at the time). All I see is a metal guard rail and Ryans car facing it. We get up to the light at the top of the off ramp, calm down a bit. I look over at the car next to us (multi-lane off-ramp), and see dirty looks and shaking heads.

Then they both get right back to it, secondaries and raspyness the next half mile to the track.
