Oh, I WILL be there! I missed last year's Austin run (but made it to dinner and drinks), made San Antonio's and MSR...loved every minute of it!

Can hardly wait!!!

That reminds me...I still need to complete Defensive Driving!

You may be a little late on that Gary, but you may luck out too. Did you get to go through the court in Rocksprings? Many of us haven't heard back from the judge on our defensive driving courses.

You have 6 months to complete the requirements...I was going to call the court (somehow - if I can find a number where a person answers) and then send in the completed material...

Actually you only have 90 days to complete defensive driving from the date of the offence.

I kinda know this cause I have taken one every year since I moved back to Texas from Louisiana in 1984, in fact I've cheated some years and beat more than one ticket a year with defensive driving, one year I beat 3 tickets with one defensive course.

Also there is a little know fact that if you get a nice judge and you request defensive driving even if you've done one already that judge may allow you to take defensive driving again for the ticket.

I can tell you which little cities in the DFW metroplex this wont work cause they are a bunch of turds too. Also some of these turd courts make you take defensive driving as part of your defered adjudication, which will show on your diving record and can **** your chance of using defensive driving for your once a year dismissal. I won't say which one of the cities are the turd court to look out for (Plano, Irving, Copell {better known as cop ****} Farmers Branch) oops.

Funny thing though the 2&1/2 years I lived in Houston I didn't have to take any defensive driving down there. Oh yea now I remember why, $hit there's so much traffic on the freeways down there you can't speed.

I don't mean to argue...but last year when I took defensive driving, I had 6 months to complete it...but several years ago, I had only 90 days to complete it. So I think the law changed during that period...

All I know is it seems I'm the only that got the infromation back from the court house in Rocksprings on the defensive driving course and the agreement I had to sign, get notarized, and return to the court said I had 90 days from the date of the offence to complete the driving course. A few years ago I know the law changed on how long you have to get your paper work in, but you still have to proff you took the driving course within 90 days of the offence. And although the Texas laws say you have 6 months to get the paper work in most courts (at least the ones I have offended) all require you to get everything done and in their hands within 90 days of the offence.

I got a ticket in College Station 2 years ago and I showed up for court so I could get defered adjudication (court date was a month after I got the ticket), the judge there is an a$$, for the defered I had to pay the fine in full, plus court cost, take defensive driving and give up a weekend to build houses for the homeless, and it all had to be done within 90 days of the offence, I ended up saying *** it and just paying the ticket. So don't speed thru College Station.

As it turns out, the court gets to decide how they handle cases, how far away deadlines are, and such. I've gotten tickets where you had to contact the court within a month, and I've had tickets that had a court date up to 6 months from the time of the issued date. I have a court date set for this october, well over a year after I got the ticket.
